Frequently Asked Questions

What is Mindset Coaching?

Mindset Coaching aims to empower women to focus on what’s most important to them (even when they don’t know what that is yet) through listening, understanding and asking new questions to shift perspectives and think differently resulting in taking new actions and achieving positive change.

How is Mindset Coaching different from Counselling?

Counselling generally aims to solve problems based on the past and provides advice. Mindset Coaching however focuses on the present and future and facilitates the individual to find their own answers (that already exist within them) and therefore take action to reconnect with what energises them to ultimately engage in a fulfilling life.

Why is Mindset Coaching so important?

Unfortunately only 20% of the population are truly flourishing and the next 50% are only moderately satisfied with life. To be one of the 20% truly flourishing and experiencing high levels of engagement and positive emotions in your life, the key is getting the support of a Mindset Coach. They will help you clarify your vision and goals, keep you focused on what matters most to you, identify habits that no longer support you, help you live your core values, keep you connected to your authentic self, relate to you as your best self and ultimately empower you to flourish.

Who works with a Mindset Coach?

Ambitious women who juggle busy work and family lives yet are yearning to live simpler, think clearer and feel calmer seek support from a Mindset Coach. Although they may have the knowledge of what to do to make changes, it’s usually their daily habits that keep them from stressing less, feeling calmer and ultimately being happier. Women change their habits when they carve out time to focus on what matters most which usually requires the support of an objective person outside of family and friends.

Why do people choose to work with a Mindset Coach?

Many people feel that the ‘partnership’ between coach and client is the key to why coaching works. The support and feedback is objective and non-judgemental, especially when clients are stretched past their comfort zone to create new ways to think and feel better. A partnership built on trust and confidentiality is paramount in the coaching relationship.

How do I know if Life Coaching is right for me?

The best person to answer that question is you and usually the experience of it gives you the answer very quickly. If you’re looking to make positive changes such as stressing less, increasing well-being, creating a positive mindset, connecting better in your relationships and finding your best self (and purpose) all within your current life circumstances, then life coaching is a great option. Book a 15-Minute ‘Discovery Call’ to decide if it’s the right fit for you.

What benefits will I receive from Life Coaching?

Based on the feedback from most women, the following experiences are the most common and satisfying: Starting your day in a better mood, you feel like the ‘calm in the storm’ of a busy life, you receive compliments from those around you, you experience heightened wellness, your happier nature will be contagious, you will be kinder to yourself and your energy levels will still be balanced at 3pm!

What if I don’t know what I’m looking for?

This is very common among women who work with a life coach, so you’re not alone. Life Coaching can identify what’s important to you through using the coaching tools and techniques to give you a clear understanding of your values, strengths, thoughts, desires and ultimately meaning and purpose.

What happens in a Life Coaching Session?

A typical session starts with a simple exercise to get focused, checking in on the objective of the session and the progress of each goal, including any insights and obstacles that got in the way. The Life Coach asks questions and uses deep listening in alignment with your core values and strengths to help you gain clarity. Evidence-based tools are used to create awareness to see new perspectives and take new action for you to move forward.

What will I have to do?

Be open to the process. Be open to answering questions (some you may not have thought about before). Challenge your own thinking. Choose life areas that inspire you. Be ready to take new action. Be accountable in taking new steps to make changes in your life.

Where do the sessions take place?

Depending on the option you choose, face-to-face sessions take place in my Sydney office or occasionally I travel to your preferred location on Sydney’s North Shore in specific circumstances. Alternatively, sessions over the phone are also available and are equally effective.

How long are the sessions?

The complimentary ‘Discovery Call’ is 15 minutes. The first session is 90 minutes and every following session is 60 minutes.

How much does it cost?

If you’re new to coaching, kick-start your journey with a complimentary 15-minute ‘Discovery Call’. Further flexible coaching options and ‘up-front payment discount’ packages can be discussed in your ‘Discovery Call’.

How do I pay?

Payment can be made via PayPal or Credit Card via PayPal, Direct Deposit, Cheque or Cash. There are no additional fees or charges for paying via PayPal. Payment is requested within 7 days of your session.

Can we speak before I book in for a session?

Yes absolutely. I offer everyone the opportunity to connect with me in a complimentary 15-Minute ‘Discovery Call’ call to see if we feel comfortable with each other. For coaching to be effective it’s important that you feel I listen to you without judgement and feel I’m someone you can trust. Communicating via email is another option.

How long will I need to wait to book my first session?

I will endeavour to book you into your first session as soon as possible however I ask for your patience as I only have a limited number of sessions per week available for new clients.

How many sessions will I need?

Most women find a number of sessions invaluable when wanting to achieve sustainable positive change. However, you can have as many or as few sessions as you wish as there are no contracts or obligations. The great thing about Life Coaching is that you feel the benefits in the very first session.

How often are the sessions?

You can choose to have weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions if you’re new to coaching. The benefit of weekly is that you receive regular support to move past challenges when they arise. The benefit of fortnightly and monthly is that you have more time to take action in your life from the insights in the sessions. If you’ve been coached previously then occasional ‘Check-In’ sessions will keep you on track to living a meaningful and flourishing life.

Can I contact you between sessions?

Yes absolutely. You can contact me via email (Mon-Fri) or phone (Tues-Thurs) between sessions if you need extra support. I will always endeavour to reply the same day as your enquiry.

What if I’m too busy to make a face-to-face session?

If travelling to a session at my Sydney office is stretching you beyond your limits, then a coaching session over the phone is an excellent alternative to make coaching work for you. I’m confident that you’ll find coaching over the phone equally great as with face-to-face or in some cases even better.

Can I re-schedule?

Yes absolutely. I like to receive 24-hours notice if you need to re-schedule and I will happily book in another time for you.

What if I decide coaching isn’t for me after the first session?

If you have pre-paid for 5, 10 or 20 sessions before your first session and you decide coaching is not for you, then I will happily provide you with a refund for the remainder of the sessions.

Do you have professional standards in your coaching industry?

I was trained and assessed using the International Coaching Federation (ICF) credentialing process and therefore my business practices meet the Professional Ethical Standards of Conduct. I practice the Eleven Core Coaching Competencies as defined by the ICF. Confidentiality and professionalism are guaranteed. (The ICF Code of Ethics is designed to provide guidelines, accountability and enforceable standards of conduct for all ICF Members).
