Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Junyi. I am a mother of a nine-year-old and an accounting professional working in a large corporation. I love travelling, watching live concerts and musicals and spending time with families and friends.
What’s important to you in life?
My family, my life experiences and my goals.
What are some achievements you’re proud of?
One of my most significant achievements last year was my regained trust in myself. I’d lost confidence in both myself and my career in the last few years during different life events.
How has working with a coach helped you face your challenges?
Julie helped me better understand my challenges by evaluating my situation, understanding myself and my goals, and equipping me with valuable tools/techniques.
How has coaching expanded your mindset?
I always thought I had a growth mindset by being positive. Julie made me realise being positive is just part of having a growth mindset. Through our sessions, she helped me expand my mindset by looking at things from different angles, identifying limiting beliefs, being stretched outside my comfort zone to discover my potential and connect myself with my core values.
What qualities has coaching helped you discover (or rediscover) about yourself?
Reliable, trusting myself, being authentic and being more “me”.
What do you do more of and less of now?
I worry less about the things that are outside my control and focus more on what I love and value. I now prioritise self-care and investing in relationships around me. I also take responsibility for my own choices, actions and meaningful goals and outcomes.
What self-care practices support your best self?
My best self-care support are my coaching sessions with Julie! I have learnt to embrace regular reflection time to pause and connect with clarity and direction.
How has your life improved as a result of the coaching journey?
My coaching journey with Julie improved my career (initially my primary purpose in starting my coaching) and my relationships with family members and friends. Most importantly, I trust, value and love myself so much more than before. My coaching journey keeps me on track!
What would you say to someone wanting to get the most out of the coaching experience?
Trust your coach and practice using the coaching tools/techniques as often as possible.
What coaching tool has made the biggest difference to your life?
My top three are The Choice Point, Limiting Beliefs and Dropping Anchor. (They are all so important to me, I cannot choose just one!)
